As previously mentioned, we have a garden. This is the 2nd year that we've had a garden, but the first time its been remotely fruitful, so it deserves its own post. I was pretty sure I had a black thumb all year last year, but I learned this year was that I had just had a
lazy thumb which is much easier to remedy! So with the help of Oma Rosene (who actually measured and drew out a planting blueprint for us - yes I have an amazing mother-in-law) I actually worked at my garden this year, watered, weeded, and even sprinkled hair (from my haircut) over the tomatoes to keep the squirrels away. The time has now arrived to harvest and this year we have:
* tomatoes (cherry, roma, bradley and better boy)
* cucumbers (burpless to be exact)
* basil (just the regular kind)
* jalepenos (see above)
* green bell peppers (my personal favorite)
*** we do not have beans - the rabbits got them (I know it sounds like we live in a forest. I promise we are 5 minutes from downtown.)Here was planting day:

And now 2 months later here some of the fruits of our labor!

Did I mention we grew that baby too? This really has been a productive year.
