Ila's First Christmas

Ila had a great first Christmas (unbeknownst to her) with Genie and Pop (Gouge grandparents) for the week of Christmas and then Oma and Opa (Rohrer grandparents) for the week after Christmas. Here are a few pictures from the weeks!

Here's Christmas Eve with Dustin and Ila by our tree. It was Dustin's year for colored lights and he wanted to be sure it was documented! Earlier that day, we had fun decorating gingerbread cookies with dear friends Nate and Cassie, then went to our church's Christmas Eve service and had dinner with my parents and two friends, Duane and Jen, afterward.

We had our first little family Christmas, just us three, on Christmas morning where we ate breakfast, read the story of Jesus' birth and exchanged gifts (well Dustin and I exchanged...Ila watched and we reminded her of all the gifts she has gotten these past few months- she didn't seem to mind)!

Then later that day we went to Franklin to spend the afternoon and evening at Genie and Pop's new house (which has a mattress and a kitchen table, but still so homey)!

Then, just a few days, later, Dustin's parents came to visit and got to spend some more precious time with Ila. Ila especially loved Oma's singing to her and special Ila themed songs, and dancing with Opa to Chicago!

Thanks to all our family and friends for helping us celebrate Christmas with Ila and teach her about Jesus' birth. Oh, and one more thing....Christmas would not be complete without an evening of Christmas hiccups. Turn the volume up to get the full effect.
